New on 500px : Blue tit hanging around by MattGould by MattGould

I am lucky enough to be a volunteer photographer at the Wetland Wildfowl Trust in Arundel, West Sussex, England. During one of my trips there to take photos for them I got this shot.

At the entrance to the main building there is an unassuming looking bird feeder, next to it is a large bramble bush, a couple of trees and an old chain hanging down from the roof of the building that has clearly been there some time. I noticed that there seemed to be a lot of birds that were quite used to people walking past. So I stood still in the shadows to see if anything appeared and I didn’t have to wait long until I got this shot of a blue tit.

New on 500px : Chestnut Teal by MattGould by MattGould

I am a volunteer photographer at the Wetland Wildfowl Trust in Arundel, West Sussex. This was taken there at one of their lakes, and it shows a female chestnut teal as she came over to say hello. A lovely bird with very sticking hints of colour.

New on 500px : Blue tit on an old chain by MattGould by MattGould

I am a volunteer photographer at the Wetland Wildfowl Trust in Arundel, West Sussex. At the Arundel location they have a few feeding stations right on the footpaths. Some attract goldfinches and others attract a whole range of birds, this was taken there right outside the café and shows a blue tit sizing up the choice of feeders in front of it.
