This was taken just after sunrise in a small park in Southern Florida. Tons of birds were present and I was snapping away as they flew in. Before long, an amazing orange reflection appeared on the water and I started focusing on the birds that were coming and going from that location.
Just as the color was at the most intense, this egret decided to come in for a landing! Timing was perfect and I snapped away and hoped for the best. Things were happening so fast, I never had a chance to take a look and see if I caught the action when I was in the field. So, this image was a nice surprise when I returned to the hotel to check over my images – I really love the s-curve from the water coming off his tail feathers!
