_Shot on Ilford Delta 100 Film – November 2014_

All the “impurities” of this post are present on the negative – as shot. As many of us do, I rely on the serendipities in life as a photographer. This “Veteran” was exposed on my first evening of a 2014 trip to London. I had been shooting in Hyde Park and headed back to the little apartment we rented to meet my wife for dinner. I popped out of the park when I heard a strange, lawnmower-esque sound coming from down the street. To my surprise it was a vintage, or “veteran,” car. I had stumbled upon a race from London to Brighton. The light had faded. I acted fast with only medium speed film at hand. I exposed several shots, handheld, at shutter speeds at or below 1/60. I think they have a unique charm, considering the subject matter. I watched about a dozen cars go by before the light was completely lost and Katherine not too grumpy with hunger waiting in the apartment.

Your thoughts are always welcome and appreciated. Thanks for the support!
