New on 500px : Hallstatt in Austria by dragrund by dragrund

The Blue Hour time was over in Hallstatt (UNESCO Heritage site in Austria) and I was about to leave my viewpoint when I noticed a strange meteorological phenomenon: suddenly low clouds appeared from nothing and moved quickly across the lake. At the same time the water was very calm leading to a fine reflection. Only 10 minutes later everything was gone and a clear cloudless night fell.

I was really happy to experience this unique natural spectacle and what I have learned again: be patient and take your time while taking pictures, sometimes unexpected things can happen.

Single exposure with a real reflection as usual.

New on 500px : Town of history by danyeidphotography by danyeidphotography

Sana’a is one of Yemen’s governates; it is situated at the center of the Yemeni plateau between two mountains in the Sana’a Basin. These mountains are the Nuqum and Ayban Mountains, and are on a height 2200 meters above sea level. Sana’a has a bright sun throughout the year except for a few weeks in the summer and spring, which are often cloudy. Generally, it is wonderfully fresh and moderate in summer and cold in winter. All districts and outskirts of Sana’a are mountainous.

Sana’a is considered one of the Islamic historical towns because it has the Old City of Sana’a that is a real miracle of old architecture. The old city of Sana’a is one of the most beautiful cities in Arabia and the Islamic World. The city is known by several names including the city of “ Sam ”. It is also said that the city was built by Shem, the son of Noah, following the flood.

New on 500px : Hallstatt in Austria by dragrund by dragrund

Hallstatt in Austria is one of these magic places in Europe you have to visit once in your life. With a breathtaking mountain setting and only a few hundred inhabitants Hallstatt and the region around is a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997.

Unfortunately it started to rain heavily in the late afternoon and I already saw my chances dwindle to take nice pictures here. But in the mountains the weather can change quickly, so at last I was very happy to take some Blue Hour shots at the evening.

Single exposure as usual – taken with my Sony A7 and my Leica 24mm lens.

New on 500px : Blue hour Panorama cheese farm in Zaanse schans (The Netherlands by JazzMatezz by JazzMatezz

Cheese farm from the Zaanse schans (Holland)
I borrowed an OLYMPUS OM-D E-M5ii with Olympus 12-40mm 2.8 lens for free on May 6yh 2016 for a weekend. The day after I decided to go to The Zaanse Schans, a windmill and museum park in Noord-Holland province which was the most popular attraction with foreign tourists in the Netherlands last year. After arriving just 15 min before sunset I made some sunset photos. After that I decided to wait till the blue hour kicked in and made this photo of the famous cheese farm. There were some other foreign photographers busy as well.
More about the cheesefarm:
The Catharina Hoeve is an authentic 17th-century cheese farm, situated at the Zaanse Schans, close to Amsterdam. The Zaanse Schans is a popular tourist attraction for good reason: its historical wooden houses, warehouses and fully-operating windmills offer a true taste of ‘Old Holland’. Upon arrival at the Catharina Hoeve you can attend a cheese making demonstration, as well as tasting the various products and exploring the gift shop, where you’ll find a wide variety of cow, sheep and goat products. Entrance and tasting is free. Demonstrations are available in multiple languages.

About the lens & camera combination:
I actually llike this combination and prefer it above my Nikon D7100 kit. It is small, light, lens is very sharp and not so much flare when shooting in the sun or street lights, I like the focus peaking and magnification combination(nice for nightphotography), facetracking is a nice feature and usefull, and it can shoot like a machine gun (handy for small kids ;-). But i won’t switch to Olympus because in the future I would like to switch to a full frame camera to have a little bit better performance when shooting on high iso.
