And here is the last shot in this tulip series. Just hours after taking this shot the first petals started to fall. I think tulips in particular (and some orchid varieties) are unusually beautiful as they start to wilt . . .

So, after a few weeks I feel like I’m in the full production swing with the new 4×5 camera and developing the sheets at home. Still plenty to learn, but can crank out some shots. This was exposed yesterday. My mother-in-law always brings flowers for the house when she visits. These are some tulips she brought last week. There is a little tilt/shift in this shot exposed in the wonderful natural light in front of big windows in my living room.

I took a number of images of the elegant and historic Tulip Stairs inside the Queen’s House in Greenwich. Completed in 1638, these are the first geometric self-supporting spiral stairs in Great Britain.
