I try desperately to start the new year with no pictures from the previous year in the work flow to edit. Start the new year fresh. It will be a mad dash this year – but I’m down to 64 film shots to edit. I have to knock those out tomorrow for there are still thousands of family digital shots and 160 family film shots to go through.

Always steeling time to shoot lately. Took an hours last week to visit Sloss with a recently acquired 1956 M3 double stroke and a Nikkor-S 50mm f/1.4. I have a couple of other new-to-me screw mount 50mm lenses I need to shoot. Hoping for a little more time over the holidays . . .

Technical note: this is Tri-x pulled 3 stops, exposed at ISO 50 and then compensated during developing (details below). Modern film emulsions are amazing …
