An early morning trip to the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve turned fruitful as we came across a herd of Oryx and few Arabian Gazelle. This is a full frame picture of a male Arabian Gazelle. Thanks to the sincere conservation efforts of the Dubai Desert Conservation team, the Wildlife of UAE is on an upward curve. A beautiful and well maintained reserve where strict discipline is maintained.

We were on way back to our residence in the middle of the desert between the border of Dubai and Sharjah, just before crossing the border on the dunes we had seen few whit objects moving. As i was returning from a birding trip in Dubai, Luckily I had my gear with me and as soon as we were close enough via the main road, off I went in pursuit of the Arabian oryx, photographed across the fence of the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. This was the first frame of the Oryx family 🙂

Again at our usual spot within the hide at Ras Al Khor we waited, especially after torrential rains drenched the UAE. Eager to get a glimpse of the kingfisher who perches afar, to our surprise it gave us a warm welcome by choosing an open clutter free perch that too backlit in the right of the evening sun. Landed and trying to get perfect balance on a wobbly perch, it fluttered away in quick successions to keep itself up right and firm.

Stood with the 600mm Lens waiting for the right moment. Perched on an elevated piece of ground overlooking a small group of African Elephants in the compound at Knowsley. We wait a long time as these beautiful creatures plod around at there own speed. Then the moment comes, he turns and looks at you. Isn’t Photography wonderful at times.
