New on 500px : Koosah Falls by Matt-Payne by Matt-Payne

On the last day of my recent Oregon waterfall photography expedition with my friend Kane, we stopped at Koosah Falls at sunrise. The beautiful soft morning light was beaming through the tips of the trees behind us, lighting up the mist created by this powerful 64 ft. waterfall on the McKenzie River. Koosah Falls is located in Lane County, Central Oregon right off of Highway 126 near Sisters.

New on 500px : Morning Comes Softly by iluvmtns2 by iluvmtns2

Image is best viewed on a black background.

Uploaded to 500px the whole image is darker than I would have liked. Thought I would just leave it as is, or maybe I should have deleted and adjusted image and then uploaded. Wish there was a way to see whole image before it is published.

New on 500px : Trillium Summer Sunrise by mitchschreiber by mitchschreiber

~Trillium Lake Summer Sunrise Image#105~
Probably the most dynamic sunrise at Trillium Lake I ever witnessed. 45 minutes of sheer awesomeness. I have a couple hundred or so frames from this morning back in early summer of 2012. I went through them and grabbed one I had not edited. This makes me want to re-edit all of them now. 😀

New on 500px : Pony Tail in Spring by AndrewKumler by AndrewKumler

Spring time in the Columbia River Gorge in Northern Oregon is a sea of green. On this morning the light and conditions came together for a wonderful atmosphere. Thanks for looking.

New on 500px : The Great Beyond by landESCAPEphotography by landESCAPEphotography

Hi, everyone! This is the beautiful flower-filled plateau at Rowena Crest in Oregon. This is a very popular area at sunrise and sunset. After shooting sunset, I realized this view faces east-southeast, which is where the Milky Way rises in the spring. I did a panorama during late twilight, slept in my car for a while, then returned for a panorama of the Milky Way arching over the flowers. Unfortunately, though there was enough ambient light, the constant wind here makes it nearly impossible to shoot the flowers with satisfactory sharpness at night, so I blended the two panos together. Everything is true to its position in the scene. Not sure if those are shooting stars or satellites.

I really hope you enjoy the image!

This is one of two images captured under these conditions in Bandon. Personally I prefer this one but have also have a variation in its process, that perhaps ill save for another time.
Whilst out on the beach some woman was wondering what I was doing basically sitting in the tidal gutter more or less during darkness, she couldn’t quite grasp I was taking photos & seemed surprised. Suppose thats understandable when no one else was around.

New on 500px : heceta night by dittto by dittto

Just a little fun from the beach at Heceta Head along the Oregon Coast. After a day of playing around in the Suislaw National Forest, a calm and relaxing evening down at Heceta was very invited. Wasn’t much going on in the sky and the photo tour groups were plentiful there, so as they did their thing I had a little fun while standing in the outlet of Cape Creek, feeling like I was the only one there.
