New on 500px : La Cantine du Voyage by Neris by Neris

Photo taken on the Island in the city of Nantes, more precisely on the West French Indies Dock, along the Loire River.

On the left, La Cantine du Voyage (The Canteen of the Trip): sheltered under a removable architecture built with agricultural greenhouses elements, it is a place of restoration and bar, very convivial, including petanque and table football installations.

On the right, Les Anneaux (The Rings), a work of art by Daniel Buren and Patrick Bouchain. It highlights the double perspective of the tip of the Island: one, designed by the architectural platform and its warehouses and, the other, natural, drawn by the Loire River.
The circles represent the marriage uniting the river, the sea and the land at the crossing of these elements.
They also evoke the rings which attached slaves, referring to the triangular trade whose Nantes was the hub in the eighteenth century.

In the background, the Titan crane, until 2003, served unloading ships. It is classified in the inventory of historical monuments.
