New on 500px : The Water Is A Bit Cold !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by judylynn by judylynn

These little monkeys were having a great time but this one little guy seemed to give me the impression that he thought the water was just a bit cold, His eyes told the story and also made us love their incredible expressions and adorable eyes. What a great privilege it was to share a few hours with these precious creatures. Their love for their families was a joy to see.

Wishing you a great
Wednesday and a very blessed one.

New on 500px : Snow Monkey of Hell’s Valley by merlinvicki by merlinvicki

Jigokudani, home of the world-famous “snow monkeys”, is situated in the valley of the Yokoyu River. 200 or so Japanese Macaque monkeys inhabit the harsh snow-covered, rough cliffs. The hot springs bursting from the ground provides some solace to the freezing monkeys.

New on 500px : Portrait Of A Male Rhesus Monkey !!!!!!!!! by judylynn by judylynn

The male rhesus monkey was definitely very much a man and did not have the finer features of the female. I find it fascinating to see the whole family and to see just how different each member truly is. The females have delicate features and the male more rugged while the young still have the look of youth and more fragile looking !!!!!

Wishing you all a beautiful night and a very blessed one.

New on 500px : Portrait Of A Baby !!!!!!!!!!! by judylynn by judylynn

I loved this moment when the baby rhesus monkey stooped for a second to scratch his back. Oh how agile these little guys are and the face was beyond adjectives. Just so so cute. You could not help but love them from the moment you laid eyes on them and they certainly made our day for Gary, Patsy and Captain Tom .

wishing you a great evening and a blessed one too.

New on 500px : Age of Innocence by chrishpetersen by chrishpetersen

This adolescent macaque looks “innocent” enough, but they can be some of the most destructive little devils on this planet!

Some say that the “eyes are the window to the soul”. As you can see, the eyes of the macaques are beautiful, intense and always alert for the prowling tigers and leopards! They are the alarm signals of the forest.

Macaques are often called the “old world” monkeys. There are some 23 species of Macaques which are spread from Japan to India.

You can tell this is a young adolescent because it lacks the characteristic deep wrinkles in the face. This one only “posed” briefly before joining the rest of raucous troupe.

Macaques are notorious for getting into everything. Give them a crack and they will invade your cabin or car. Within mere seconds, they use those “cute” hands and feet to tear apart your suitcase in search of food.

While on safari in India or Africa it is sometimes easy to overlook the “small stuff” which can be beautiful in their own right.

New on 500px : Monkey Making The Plunge !!!!!!!!!!!!!! by judylynn by judylynn

This was taken just as the Rhesus monkey was making the plunge into the river to have just one more swim. They were wonderful to watch as they went about their daily activities. Sometimes they were seen eating, other times swimming and then of course the very important moments when they check each other for anything that should not be there such as parasites. They are so thorough as they check and do not miss a spot. It was an awesome afternoon and not one that we will soon forget. Memories for a lifetime.

Wishing you a beautiful evening and a very blessed one !!!
