This is a photograph I took whilst at the Wetland Wildfowl Trust in Arundel, West Sussex, England. It shows the leading member of the group of Canada Geese gently making its way across the lake to the edge to investigate the possibility of food.

All of a sudden the sleepy village of Khichan is transformed into a noisy crowded place, as ‘krok-krok’ calls fill the air, and the sky is darkened by thousands of cranes. ‘In earlier times only a few dozen ‘Kuraj’ (the local name for Demoiselle Crane)
