Aside from landscape photography, I also enjoy taking images of wildlife when I’m able and the timing is right. This is an image taken last Summer during a trip to Glacier National Park, shortly after sunrise. After a wonderful morning out shooting with friend Rob Macklin, we decided to head back to the car in pursuit of some delicious razzleberry pie at the Park Cafe in St. Mary.
Of course, one of the best times of day to witness the surrounding wildlife is around sunrise and we lucked out with our timing, as we noticed this handsome fellow in one of the nearby fields while heading back. Thankfully, I had brought along my 70-200mm lens and was able to grab a few quick snaps of him as he searched around for a meal. The nice, warm sunlight approaching from sunrise began to gently caress the field and it almost seemed like it served as a spotlight for him as he stood proudly, gazing out in our direction. While this shot doesn’t depict just how gorgeous the sunrise was on this particular morning or how majestic a creature this fellow was, I tried to do the moment justice here by capturing what I could in those brief few seconds.
Thank you for taking a look. 🙂
