Taken at 10pm. That’s the sign the days in Holland are almost at the longest. This is the Zijlpoortsbrug and gate taken from the ‘Schrijversbrug’. The Gate dates from 1667, a short 100 years after the Spanish under Francisco de Valdez attempted to capture the city. The city was surrounded by thick brick walls and this was one of 8 entrances.
