Snow geese are so much fun to photograph. They will fly away at the slightest disturbance and than mostly come back to the same spot in a cacophony of honking sounds.
This day they were flying back and forth to the same spot and suddenly the wind shifted enough and they were landing head on.

A Great Horned Owl flies out of the Forest darkness in pursuit of it’s prey as the light dwindles. Great Horned Owls are fierce predators that can take large prey, including raptors such as Ospreys, Peregrine Falcons, Prairie Falcons, and other owls. They also eat much smaller items such as rodents, frogs, and scorpions. Why this behavior towards other owls, maybe to decrease competition or maybe just for food. either way who knows
