Late February in Kirkland, and the Anna Hummingbirds males are on full-on display, singing from perches, diving j-loops, aerial battles. In my neighborhood, this little jewel landed on one of his favored—and most attractive—perches. I was ready, lined up with a green, bokeh background. Then he gifted me a flash of his gorget.
