Buckingham Fountain, in Chicago’s Grant Park, was built in 1927 as a gift to the city from Kate Buckingham in memory of her brother Clarence.
Its base pool is 280 feet in diameter and contains four pairs of ‘sea horses’ that represent the states that border on Lake Michigan.
