New on 500px : Feeling Orange by DianiRalph by DianiRalph

One of the Agamas that I saw on some rocks In Mugie.
I’m afraid that I am not expert on Agamas so if anyone could tell me exactly which one it is I would be most grateful.

This will be my last post for a while as I will be traveling for a bit.
Thank you so much to all who have followed and commented on my photos over the last couple of weeks. Your loyalty and appreciation mean a huge amount.
Ekorian’s is a magical place and I urge anyone who has the possibility to give it a visit !!

New on 500px : Bliss !!! by DianiRalph by DianiRalph

Spa time at Ekorian’s !!
Ox peckers are birds that are responsible for cleaning ticks and other parasites of large game in Africa.
Tolerated by almost all animals, they are allowed into the most sensitive of areas to get rid of unwanted visitors.

New on 500px : Name The Bird !! by DianiRalph by DianiRalph

It wasn’t until I was editing that I spotted the bird……
Apart from the odd angle of the giraffe’s neck, not really a spectacular photo, but I am curios to see who can spot and identify the bird !!

New on 500px : Ekorian’s Cats by DianiRalph by DianiRalph

This male Cheetah posed beautifully for a few seconds on this termite mound before stalking off.
This is one of a pair of brothers that are resident to Ekorian’s and were responsible for seeing off the other cheetahs in my previous posts.
If you look carefully you can just see his brother under the bush on the lower right of the photo.
As can also clearly be seen here Cheetahs only have semi-retractable claws as opposed to all other cats that can fully retract their claws.

New on 500px : An Offering by DianiRalph by DianiRalph

As a follow up to my last post here is a younger bird from the colony bringing an offering to the sitting female.
The slight black on its beak shows that this bird is still fairly young. Fully mature birds have completely red bills.

New on 500px : Weather Forecast ?? by DianiRalph by DianiRalph

Ekorian’s is beautiful in any conditions.
Dark skies and rolling thunder were not really what I had hoped for when we set off for our afternoon game drive, but when the sun behind me lit up these Eland walking across the plains I have to say that the lighting and colours were so dramatic that I was actually quite happy about the weather !!
