This is another image from up on the Manhattan Bridge. Some late afternoon thunderstorms in the area brought in some nice, puffy clouds before sunset. Ended up having a very nice sunset framing Manhattan.

This is a three-image panorama using a 6-stop ND filter to get some longer than usual exposure times.

Hot and humid afternoon up on the Manhattan Bridge. I was originally up there to catch some stormy weather over the city. Unfortunately, the late afternoon thunderstorms passed by just to the north of me.

Luckily the stray clouds set up a nice sunset and I didn’t have to deal with any rain. Though I suppose a little rain would have helped cool things down. That bridge gets really hot with the sun beaming down on it.

This is a three-image panorama. Used a 13-stop ND filter to get exposure times of around 70-75 seconds while shooting towards the sun.

I love taking pictures of the Brooklyn Bridge. I’m trying to get a picture of the Empire State Building that provides a unique perspective. Here is my first attempt, with the ESP in the background lit up in red, white and blue for Memorial Day 2015.

The Forecast said that thunderstorms would be rolling through the area last Sunday, so we took a ride into Brooklyn hoping for some lightning shots over the skyline.

This is the view from up on the Manhattan Bridge as the storm clouds rolled in. Used a 10-stop ND filter to get the long exposure. The thunder and heavy rain came about 15 minutes after this exposure.

Last Sunday had a forecast of thunderstorms rolling through the area, so we headed to Brooklyn hoping for some lightning images with the NYC skyline.

This is the view from up on the Manhattan Bridge. The forecast was spot on and the area really got dumped on.
