The Augustus Bridge is the oldest bridge in the city of Dresden, in the state Saxony in Germany. It was built between 1907 and 1910. Crossing the river Elbe, the road bridge connects the Innere Neustadt in the north (right bank) with the historic area of the city in the south (left bank). There has been a bridge at the same location since at least the 12th century. Under king Augustus II the Strong of Saxony, a new sandstone bridge was built between 1727 and 1731. This bridge was replaced by the present, also sandstone, bridge with 9 arches in order to provide a wider opening for river traffic. Source: Wikipedia

Eine mysteriöse Tür in den Katakomben der Burg Stolpen.
Die Burg Stolpen wurde von einer Höhenburg zum Schloss umgebaut. Sie liegt etwa 27 km östlich von Dresden im Landkreis Sächsische Schweiz/ Osterzgebirge.

Sie wurde auf einem Basaltberg errichtet. 1222 wurde sie erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Sie wurde mit dem örtlich vorhandenen Basalt errichtet.Zur Wasserversorgung wurde ein Brunnen gebaut, er gilt als der tiefste in Basalt getrieben Brunnen der Welt mit 84,39 m. Er wurde nach 22 Jahren Bauzeit fertig gestellt.

Im 18. Jahrhundert diente die Burg als Gefängnis für die Gräfin Cosel, die Mätresse August des Starken. Die Gefangenschaft dauerte von 1716 bis zu ihrem Tode 1765 im Alter von 85 Jahren. Die letzten 20 Jahre lebte sie im Johannisturm, der im Volksmund den Namen “Coselturm” erhielt.

Die Burg kann heute noch besichtigt werden.
