Oxburgh Hall was built in the late 1400s by Sir Edmund Bedingfeld. Though the Hall appears fortified the moat and crenellations are aesthetic rather than defensive in nature.

Now managed by the National Trust the building has undergone many changes since its original design.

We took the photo from inside a cloud. Everywhere around, the sun was shining, but at the top of the mountain in the Connemara Park, there was a wet a chilly cloud that we had to walk through on slippery stones.
