New Greek architecture in Cyprus – minimalist – buildings with its strengengte lines – enjoy

The project uniHALLS was developed by ROTOS Building Society. The entire project planning was under the auspice of ROTOSgroup.

The project was inspired solely by the willingness of our people to innovate. It is part of our company’s strategic mission to search for market gaps and opportunities that arise from the demand of the consumer. The uniHALLS project was developed after a thorough market research on students’ wants and needs. As a company we want to be responsive on every demand, so we implemented our project based on the recommendations and findings of our research. Therefore, our proposal to the students accommodates the following facilities and services:

The structure:
There are 440 student dormitories in the complex that are evenly spread into three main buildings. The 3 buildings have a common ground and there is easy access to the main room where the reception and the administration offices are located.

Over ground/ Underground parking:
There are many available over ground and underground parking spaces for our residents. Additionally, there are special arrangements for handicapped people. Cafeteria:
The uniHALLS cafe is a place where our residents can spend their spare time by networking or watching the main sport events. The contemporary design and our high quality coffee is the best combination for creating a relaxing atmosphere for the residents and their visitors.

Restaurant:
UniHALLS include a restaurant for the convenience of the residents. The users of this service can enjoy their lunch or dinner within the premises of our establishment.

Multipurpose room:
After a thorough examination of the needs of the students, we concluded that there was a need for a multipurpose room. The functionality of the multipurpose room can potentially lead to the organization of meetings or assemblies that would be conducted by the management. The students have the ability to use the room upon request for their own purpose.

Laundry/ Gym:
The complex also facilitates a laundry room and a gym, both service can be accessed on a 24/7 basis.

Reception services and 24/7 security:
The reception is prepared to guide the students upon any general and technical enquires. The management team is on duty to provide the students with the best possible arrangements. There is a 24/7 security that undertakes the role of the guardian for the premises and the students. Furthermore, the facilities are equipped with a CCTV and safety doors. The mission of the uniHALLS employees is to provide a safe and enjoyable accommodation for all the residents.

Availability of 10 different types of rooms:
In response to demand, the design team created multiple choices for the student in terms of room size and style.

Modern architecture:
We are proud to state that our building is a landmark for the city and an eye-catching venue for all the pedestrians.

Energy efficiency:
The bioclimatic planning of the complex secures comfortable conditions both in winter and summer and subsequently saves energy by not allowing excess consumption. Using improvised technology and progressive architecture techniques, the engineering team has successfully achieved to limit the dependency from non-renewable sources, especially for heating/ cooling and lighting.

The innovative design of the building enabled the planner to fortify the building structure with higher quality insulation.
Targeting a more functional structure in the indoor zones we placed the most critical parts of the building into the spectrum of open air and light.
For the lighting of the building, we equipped our rooms with the latest technology of photodiodes (LED).
All the electrical devices in the building (including air conditioning systems) have energy efficiency of A++.
Hot Water:
For the all-day long provision of hot water, our engineers have installed solar panels that function in combination with the gas system.

Green perspective:
In the aerials of our premises we placed glazing protectors with low U, in order to be in a flexible defensive position due to the climate changes in Cyprus. The impressive green stripes in the upper peripheral of the building are functioning as natural protectors from the wind and sun.

Ultimately, the cutting –edge technology and the innovative systems of uniHALLS in combination with the smart usage of the natural elements establish our service as the avant-garde service in Cyprus.

Thank you for your visit and if you like my work do leave a comment.
This is my latest artwork.

This photo shows the wonderful feeling beeing home after a rain 🙂

Hello
Can you hear me
Am I getting through to you

Hello
Is it late there
Is there laughter on the line
Are you sure you’re there alone
‘Cause I’m
Trying to explain
Something’s wrong
You just don’t sound the same

Why don’t you
Why don’t you
Go outside
Go outside

Kiss the rain
Whenever you need me
Kiss the rain
Whenever I’m gone too long
If your lips feel lonely and thirsty
Kiss the rain
And wait for the dawn
Keep in mind
We’re under the same sky
And the night’s
As empty for me as for you
If you feel
You can’t wait till morning
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain
Kiss the rain

Have a great week!

New on 500px : Eternal Destiny – Edro III Shipwreck by Jokerf1 by Jokerf1

The Edro III, an 83 meter long, 2,517 ton freighter ran aground in stormy weather in the Sea Caves area of Paphos between Coral Bay and St. George’s Island on 8 December 2011.

The Edro III left Limassol the previous day in bad weather with a cargo of plasterboard bound for Rhodes. The strong winds and rough seas caused the vessel to drift off course when it struck a rock and ran into trouble about ten miles from the shore of Paphos and became disabled.

The Edro III drifted until it finally went ashore near Peyia, hitting the rocks between 4am and 5am. The ship got stuck broadside approximately 15 metres from the shore with the bow wedged in a rocky stretch of the beach.

This is one of my first shots with Nikon D750 camera. Let me know what you think and have a nice weekend!
