On the way over the top of Table Mountain yesterday, I was passed by a few folks. Here’s one of them on a ridge with Mt. Baker behind. To either side of the mountain and man, fog sweeps by, casting off a ghostly visage.

Can you spot the skier?

Nothing speaks more to me about the vastness of nature and in turn, the wilderness, than those broad canvases I get to see and photograph.

Moreover, alone on this lake, the skier brings perspective to these wide spaces: the trees, the lake, the cups of slope, the leaning shadows.

But, it isn’t the skier that my eyes are led to first and that is what I like most about this photo. I hope you all like it as well.
