Waitomo, New Zealand

The Waitomo area is famous for its glow worm caves but the scenery is quite amazing if you take the time to explore some of the walks there. This is the entry of the natural tunnel at Ruakuri scenic reserve which is free to visit any time. There are some glow worms visible throughout the caves and canyons here but nothing as spectacular as you will see in some of the caves owned by companies such as Spellbound. The tunnel behind this scene does a U turn before exiting downstream.
