We were on way back to our residence in the middle of the desert between the border of Dubai and Sharjah, just before crossing the border on the dunes we had seen few whit objects moving. As i was returning from a birding trip in Dubai, Luckily I had my gear with me and as soon as we were close enough via the main road, off I went in pursuit of the Arabian oryx, photographed across the fence of the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. This was the first frame of the Oryx family 🙂

A female dik-dik. The tiny antelope is a true model with large eyes and eyelashes that many women would probably kill for. If you approach it quietly in your vehicle it tends to freeze, just moving the ears and nose, allowing you to get close-ups.

The things females put up with for a beauty treatment. Sharp claws all over the face, a pointy beak pinching the skin, and the occasional tail in the eye. This lady impala takes it with great patience and grace, that is, until the oxpecker starts poking its beak into her ear.
