The beautiful Singapore skyline as seen from beside the Esplanade Theatre. Before the ECP was rerouted to the MCE, I used to love driving from east to west to see the view of the CBD. I hate to be one of those people, but it’s not the same anymore. The MCE is an amazing piece of engineering but it doesn’t offer the same experience as the old ECP, where the city would rise into view as you drove up the start of the bridge. One of my favourite views in the world. The excitement of walking into a hawker centre and having no idea what you’re going to eat, walking past each stall and checking out what’s in the trays and what’s in the kitchen and then finally selecting the stalls for entree, main, and dessert. Then the meal can begin and you can enjoy the unique dynamic of the hawker centre from your pastel stool and table. Medium format film.
